A “crush” is such an innocent feeling we all encounter at some point in our lives. It develops over time and hits a point of exhaustion. Sometimes you get lucky and realize your crush might actually like you back.
“Waiting For You” is simply about waiting for that other person to make the first move. You can’t tell them how you feel out of fear of losing them, but you also can’t let them think you are uninterested. It’s a fine line we ride on and it’s hard to know which move to make first.
lyrics
I can’t believe you said “What are we?”
Maybe I was wrong I think I’m catching on
This fine line in the middle of my mind
You can’t touch it, You can’t hide it
The silence breaks one last time
Cause we are foolin’ ourselves, I hope you can tell
I’m waiting for you (you)
You see me daydreaming, my heart racing
I won’t make a move, I’m waiting for you (you)
I’m waiting for you (you), I’m waiting for you (you)
I won’t make a move, I’m waiting for you
You would think by now
We would know how this works out
All this time, friends of friends, starting our chapter at the end
If silence makes the heart grow
Then how am I to know
(There’s something here with this)
Fine line in the middle of my mind
You can’t touch it, you can’t hide it
I can’t break it down
Cause we are foolin’ ourselves, I hope you can tell
I’m waiting for you (you)
I see you daydreaming, your heart racing
You won’t make a move, I’m waiting for you (you)
I’m waiting for you (you), I’m waiting for you (you)
I won’t make a move, I’m waiting for you (you)
Cause I’m tired of lookin in your eyes
And not saying what I’m thinking
Are you thinking what I’m thinking too?
Cause we are foolin’ ourselves, I hope you can tell
I’m waiting for you (you)
You see me daydreaming, my heart racing
I won’t make a move, I’m waiting for you (you)
I’m waiting for you
